Las Vegas Strip Photographer

Capture the Energy, Romance & Iconic Sights of Las Vegas

There is nowhere quite like the Las Vegas Strip.

Bright lights, towering resorts, iconic landmarks, luxury architecture, palm trees, fountains, and that unmistakable Vegas energy make the Strip one of my favorite places to create photographs that actually feel like Las Vegas.

Whether you're visiting for the first time, celebrating an anniversary, planning a surprise proposal, getting married, honeymooning, or simply want professional photos while you're in town, a Las Vegas Strip photography session gives you the chance to turn your trip into something you'll be able to look back on long after you've gone home.

I'm Austyn, the photographer behind Schaffner's Captures, and I photograph couples, proposals, engagements, weddings, elopements, families, and visitors throughout Las Vegas.

My goal isn't just to put you in front of a famous landmark and tell you to smile.

I want your photos to capture you experiencing Vegas.

Why Choose the Las Vegas Strip for Your Photos?

The Strip is one of the most recognizable destinations in the world—and the best part is that it doesn't give you just one backdrop.

Within a relatively small area, you can find completely different environments.

One minute you're surrounded by elegant European inspired architecture, and the next you're walking underneath glowing marquees and neon lights.

Depending on the route and length of your session, your gallery can incorporate a combination of:

  • Iconic Las Vegas landmarks
  • Luxury resort architecture
  • Fountains and water features
  • Palm tree lined walkways
  • City streets and crosswalks
  • Bright marquees and signs
  • Romantic architectural details
  • Classic Vegas scenery
  • Nighttime neon and city lights
  • Candid moments walking the Strip

That's what makes a Strip photography session so much fun.

You don't necessarily have to choose one single backdrop for your entire gallery.

Las Vegas Strip Couples Photography

Vegas trips deserve better than a camera roll filled with selfies where one of you is always holding the phone. 😂

Whether this is your first vacation together or you've been traveling together for decades, a professional couples session gives you a chance to actually slow down and enjoy part of your trip together while I capture it.

You don't need to know how to pose.

I'll guide you when you need direction, but I'll also give you room to interact naturally. Some of my favorite photographs happen between the poses—when you're walking, laughing, talking, or completely forgetting about the camera.

Your session can be romantic, playful, glamorous, casual, adventurous, or a combination of everything.

The goal is for the photographs to look like you, just with Las Vegas as your backdrop.

Las Vegas Strip Proposal Photography

Planning to propose in Las Vegas?

First of all, that's a pretty incredible place to do it.

The Strip offers everything from romantic and elegant proposal locations to unmistakably Vegas backdrops filled with lights and energy.

I'll work with you before the proposal to understand what you're planning, where you want the moment to happen, and how I can photograph it without ruining the surprise.

When the moment comes, I'll be ready.

And once you hear that YES, the session doesn't have to end there.

We can transition directly into newly engaged portraits around the Strip so you walk away with photographs of the proposal itself and the moments immediately afterward.

Daytime vs. Nighttime Las Vegas Strip Photos

One of the biggest decisions you'll make is when you want your session.

And honestly?

The Strip can look completely different depending on the time of day.

Daytime

During the day, architectural details, landscaping, palm trees, and resort exteriors become much more prominent.

This can be perfect if you want a brighter, cleaner gallery or if the architecture itself is an important part of the look you're going for.

Golden Hour

The period leading into sunset can bring softer, warmer light and gives you the opportunity to capture the Strip as it begins transitioning from day into night.

Depending on your session length and sunset time, you may even be able to get a little bit of both worlds.

Nighttime

This is when Vegas becomes Vegas.

The signs turn on. The resorts light up. The streets glow.

Nighttime Strip photography can feel colorful, energetic, romantic, cinematic, and completely different from a traditional portrait session.

If neon and Vegas nightlife are what you're imagining when you picture your photos, nighttime may be exactly what you're looking for.

What Should You Wear for Las Vegas Strip Photos?

The great thing about the Strip is that you can take your wardrobe in several different directions.

Want to dress like you're heading to an incredible Vegas dinner?

Do it.

Want something relaxed and comfortable that feels more like your everyday relationship?

That works too.

Want the dramatic dress you've been waiting for an excuse to wear?

This might be the excuse.

For couples, I usually recommend coordinating rather than perfectly matching. Choose colors and styles that complement one another without looking like you're wearing a uniform.

Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel confident.

And remember that Strip sessions can involve walking, so consider your shoes when planning your outfit—especially if you're booking a longer session.

What to Expect During Your Las Vegas Strip Photoshoot

You don't need modeling experience.

You don't need to practice poses beforehand.

And you definitely don't need to spend the entire session wondering what you're supposed to do with your hands. 😂

I'll guide you throughout your session and help with posing when necessary, while also creating opportunities for more natural photographs.

Depending on the type of session, you can expect a combination of:

  • Guided portraits
  • Candid interactions
  • Walking photographs
  • Romantic close ups
  • Playful prompts
  • Individual portraits
  • Wide environmental photographs
  • Architectural compositions
  • Detail photographs
  • Creative nighttime shots when applicable

I want you to have variety when you receive your gallery—not 100 photographs of essentially the same pose.

How Much Time Should You Book?

That depends heavily on what you want to accomplish.

If there's one particular Strip location you love, a shorter session may be all you need.

If you're envisioning several different backdrops, outfit changes, or a larger section of the Strip, you'll want more time.

One thing that's important to understand is that the Las Vegas Strip is bigger than it looks.

Locations that appear close together on a map can take considerably longer to travel between once you factor in pedestrian bridges, casino properties, crowds, traffic, parking, and walking.

I'd rather help you create a realistic route than cram five locations into a session and spend most of your photography time trying to get from one place to another.

Tell me what you're envisioning, and I can help you determine what makes sense for the amount of time you're considering.

A Few Things to Know Before Your Strip Session

Las Vegas is busy—and that's part of its personality.

Crowds, events, construction, property rules, security restrictions, and accessibility can change, sometimes without much notice.

Some areas of casino and resort properties are privately owned and may have restrictions regarding professional photography.

Because of that, exact shooting locations can sometimes need to remain flexible.

I'll always work with the environment available during your session and look for ways to create beautiful photographs without letting the chaos of the Strip take over your gallery.

And sometimes that chaos creates some of the best photographs.

Your Las Vegas Photos Should Feel Like Las Vegas

There's a reason people travel from all over the world to experience this city.

It's bold.

It's weird.

It's romantic.

It's glamorous.

It's chaotic.

And somehow, all of those things work together.

Your photography session doesn't need to remove you from that experience.

I want to incorporate it.

Whether you're dressed in wedding attire underneath glowing casino signs or laughing together while walking down Las Vegas Boulevard, I want your photographs to remind you exactly what this trip felt like.
